The Masai Mara Game Reserve is often called simply “The Mara” Masai word meaning “mottled” a reference to its patchy landscape. The terrain of the reserve is primarily grassland and riverine forest with clumps of distinctive acacia trees. The Masai Mara ecosystem supports a high density of animals including the Big Five evident throughout the year, which plays host to the annual migration but whatever the time of year the resident wildlife will surely enthrall all who visit this wondrous Park.

Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint (referred to as the Escarpment) and then head further south into the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. You will then get ready for your afternoon game drive, which will take place from 1600 to 1830hrs. You have a chance to explore the savanna in search of the “big five” (rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant) in this wonderful game reserve. Other popular animals include zebra, hippo, wildebeest, hyena and more. After the game drive you will return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day: 2 Full Day Maasai Mara
You will start very early in the morning at 0600hrs after having a cup of coffee or tea with some snacks with both picnic breakfast and picnic lunches. The main reason is to see the sunrise and also the fact that the wildlife cats are more active before the sun gets hot also you have a better chance to see the kill on this exclusive Masai Mara safari.
You will have your breakfast beneath an acacia tree overlooking the vast savannah with herds of grazing wildlife. After breakfast you will spend a full day viewing the great predators and explore the park’s high concentration of wild animals. On the plains you will see enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs and occasional cheetah.
You will proceed to the Mara River with 270Kms. that cuts through the Masai Mara – Serengeti plains finally pouring on to Lake Victoria which is the source of the river Nile. You will enjoy your picnic lunch at the banks of the river with open grassland Savannah as you enjoy the breathtaking expansive wildness. The river is famed for the hundreds of Nile crocodiles that prey on the animals that come to drink as well as big families of hippos that basks in the water all day long.
On the way after a full day exploration in the wild savannah your driver guides will look for a perfect location for the sundowner setting. Watching the sun sets down behind the beautiful African horizons at the Mara with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks (complimentary) spices and winds up your savannah safari before retiring to your camp for the night.
