One of Kenya’s most visited game reserve, the Mara has an extra ordinary density of animals including the Big five and an array of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem giving life to the two game reserves before pouring out into Lake Victoria. The instinct-led migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara starting on set month of July until October Mara, is the highlight of this safari. The animals have to outrun the predators on the way making it even more magnificent.

Day 3: Full Day Maasai Mara
The second day in Mara will spent exploring the extensive grasslands of the Maasai Mara on a full day game drive. You will get packed lunch and picnic in the wild. Maasai Mara Game Reserve is renowned for being host to the Great Wildebeest migration. Millions of wildebeest’s cross over the Mara River every year from the Serengeti in search of grazing pastures. As they make their way across the Mara River, some of them are eaten by the hungry crocodiles awaiting them on the river banks (from mid-June till end of October). The Great Migration which is listed as one of the wonders of the world is an experience that you will live to remember. In addition to this, Maasai Mara is home to other animals like waterbucks, baboons, gazelles, monkeys, impalas, Maasai giraffes among others and over 500 bird species. You will later look for a perfect shade under an acacia tree for your picnic lunch with amazing views of the savanna. Back to the camp at around 1700hrs. Dinner and overnight at Ashnil Camp Mara.

Then head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.
