Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli
You will be picked up by our safari representative from your hotel at Nairobi or at the airport and proceed to Amboseli National Park which is a wildlife photographic park. The Park is located northwest of Mt. Kilimanjaro on boarder with Tanzania. This is the best park to get close to free-ranging elephants and the vast wildlife species such as lions, cheetahs, zebras, and the wildebeest. The savannah grassland gives the ecosystem enough life to support the wildlife. The park is popular with safari lovers for its spectacular view of the snowcapped Mt Kilimanjaro. After checking in at your accommodation in good time for lunch you will later embark on afternoon game drive starting 1600hrs until 1830hrs for dinner and overnight. Stay at Sentrim Amboseli/Kibo Safari Camp
Day 2: Amboseli Full Day
The second day is spent with an early morning drive to observation hill which allows an over view of a good part of the park returning for breakfast at the hotel, freshen up and later go for a mid-morning game drive. Have lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure, maybe swimming or relaxing. We will go for another game drive in the evening in search of more animals. Stay at Sentrim Amboseli/Kibo Safari Camp
Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha
Depart the Amboseli after early breakfast and proceed towards Lake Naivasha with a brief stopover along the route. You will pass through the scenic landscapes of Mount Longonot arriving in Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. Lake Naivasha, the name derives from the local Maasai name Nai’posha, meaning “rough water” because of the sudden storms which can arise. The Lake has large hippo population that sleeps during the day out in the shallow lake shores and comes out to graze when the night falls in; as giraffes wander in the acacia. At 1910m (6200f), the water is fresh and the lake is fringed with dense clumps of papyrus (ancient Egyptian once used this to make paper). Kingfishers use the papyrus as a perch, herons hide in it while searching for food. Naivasha is yet another area popular for bird watching (over 400species have been recorded). Afternoon can be spent on a boat ride which later you disembark at the shores for a walk into animal sanctuary among the wandering resident herbivorous including Buffaloes, Thompson gazelles, Giraffes, wildebeest among other herbivores. Stay at Fish Eagle/Sawela Lodge Naivasha
Day 4: Naivasha- Maasai Mara
After breakfast you will depart at 7:30 am and then head south. Stop at the Great Rift head straight for the Maasai Mara National Reserve through the Suswa plains with a brief stopover at the Maasai town of Narok. Continue towards the Maasai Mara arriving in early afternoon.
Being one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya-Africa, the reserve is located in the Rift Valley in primary grassland. It is the most concentrated reserves in Kenya with a wide variety of wild animals including the famous Big Five (lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinos and elephant). It is also known for the annual wildebeest’s migration arriving in July and departing in October. The predator-prey spectacle is more thrilling on a game drive as you watch the animals outrun their predators in close proximity.
Evening game drive will take place from 1600 to 1830hrs. You have a chance to explore the savanna in search of the “big five” (rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant) in this wonderful game reserve.
